Our President
Our President, Pastor David L. Smith, is dedicated to leading Houston Northeast CDC with a focus on sustainable growth and community empowerment. With a vision rooted in innovation and inclusivity, he drives our mission to create positive and lasting change. Under his leadership, we continue to thrive and make significant strides in enhancing the quality of life for our community members.
Pastor David L. Smith
Pastor David L. Smith is the Founder and President of the Houston Northeast Community Development Corporation (Houston Northeast CDC), where he leads initiatives focused on advancing health and wellness, educational achievement, and economic empowerment throughout the community.

A proud Houston native, Pastor Smith is a graduate of MacArthur High School, continued his education at the College of Biblical Studies, and graduated from Southern Reformed College & Seminary. He has been married to his wife, Linda, for more than 40 years, and together they have three beautiful daughters. In addition to serving as the Pastor of New Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church for more than 34 years, Pastor Smith is passionate about meeting the immediate needs of the community through servant leadership and practical outreach.

A dedicated advocate for the Eastex-Jensen Community, Pastor Smith has helped develop and strengthen individuals and families through programs that promote homeownership, financial stability, computer literacy, parenting, family enrichment, and health and wellness.

Pastor Smith loves spending time with family and traveling.
